No Detroit concert for Big Sean? Not so fast, rapper says he has something special planned

There’s no Michigan date for Big Sean’s upcoming summer tour, but the Detroit rapper says he has something special in store for his hometown.

Dates were rolled out Monday for Sean’s summer trek, during which he’s a support act for Atlanta rapper Russ. Sabrina Claudio is also featured on the 16-date outing.

The tour kicks off July 8 in Denver and wraps Aug. 10 in Seattle, with Chicago and Toronto the closest cities to Detroit.

Fans took notice of the Michigan absence and hit the comment section of Big Sean’s Instagram post — “Must be a typo somewhere because I don’t see Detroit on here” was one such remark — and the “Bounce Back” artist replied, telling fans to be patient.

“I got something way too special for Detroit!!!” he responded to one fan who commented “No Detroit!!!” on the post. Another fan wrote, “So… you not coming home to perform? Crazy work,” to which he responded, “yeah I am, that show is its own special homecoming.”

Sean eventually took to the comments section to clarify his touring plans.
