No Chilling on Sunday: Craig David to Headline Festival

By

Artist Craig David usually chills on a Sunday, but he will be breaking that rule in the summer by headlining New World Festival in Essex.

On August 30, the Fill Me In singer will perform his TS5 show – named after the Southampton tower block he grew up in – in Central Park, Chelmsford.

The festival has previously hosted electronic artists such as Joel Corry, James Hype, and Andy C, and David’s show is set to feature singing, MCing and DJing.

Stephen Robinson, the Liberal Democrat leader of Chelmsford City Council, said he is “absolutely delighted” by the news.

It came after Radio 2 in the Park was recently found to have generated £4m of revenue for local businesses in and around the city.
